The leading satellite operator in its sector worldwide, Intelsat, announced the signing of an agreement with BBC World News for the renovation and expansion of the news channel for Asia (the Pacific) and Latin.

The agreement between the two parties includes the distribution of the bandwidth capacity of four satellites in the Intelsat fleet, as well as transmission services through teleports and earth IntelsatONESM, fiber optic network.

To reach viewers who live in the Asia-Pacific, BBC World News will use the Intelsat satellite capacity 8 and 5, positioned at 166 degrees East and 169 ° East, respectively.

For release to the two American continents, BBC World News will use the capacity of Intelsat 9 (58 ° West) and Galaxy 13 (127 º West).

The British International channel signal is distributed via 16 satellites around the world since April 2008 adopting the name of BBC World News (previously BBC World) to identify their news programming.
