More DTH for Serbia
By Chris Dziadul - August 31, 2010
Serbia could soon have a third DTH platform, competing directly with Total TV and the Romanian-owned Digi TV.
MPortal reports that the Bulgarian platform Bulsatcom is continuing tests on a platform named Polaris that would specifically target Serbia.
Employing Hellas 2 at 39 degrees East, the platform would offer localised versions of the same international channels Bulsatcom distributes in its home market, along with Serbian channels, some of which would employ a separate transponder.
Bulsatcom was launched in 2003 and competes in Bulgaria with Total TV (formerly ITV Partner). It is believed to have at least 350,000 subscribers.
