SatLink Wins Russian Channel Deal
SatLink has been contracted by Channel One Russia to provide broadcasting services to the Asia-Pacific region, SatLink announced Aug. 11.
The long-term contract will see SatLink broadcast Channel One Russia’s international feed throughout markets over SatLink’s AsiaSat-5 MCPC (multiple channel per carrier) platform.
Channel One Russia provides Russian-language news and entertainment programming and has about 250 million TV viewers worldwide.
“SatLink is proud to introduce the world’s biggest Russian language channel on our AsiaSat-5 platform. Adding this premier Russian-language broadcaster to the region augments our existing European bouquet of leading international channels,” SatLink CEO David Hochner said in a statement.
Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
